Verco Limited, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of glass-door and open-chill cabinets, has supplied six Kingston and Verwood cabinets to a mini supermarket at the University of Central Lancashire in Preston.
The supermarket, which is owned and operated by the Students’ Union (SU), underwent a recent refurbishment including the upgrading of its chiller and freezer cabinets.
Commenting for the Students’ Union, Retail Development Manager Louise Inman says: “We considered cabinets from half a dozen manufacturers. However, as the SU supermarket at Leeds University (one of the largest in the country) had gone through a similar refurbishment process about twelve months ago, it made sense to pay them a visit.
“They had specified Verco integral cabinets for their reliability, value for money and reduced heat and noise output. This, together with the attractive styling and the extra merchandising space compared to other cabinets, convinced us to specify Verco.
”
Following a site survey, Verco supplied and installed four integral open-chill Kingston and two glass-door Verwood cabinets, all of which were finished in white with matching bump-bars.
As the SU is a not-for-profit organisation, 100% of profits generated from commercial activities such as bars, entertainment and supermarkets, is reinvested into the SU to fund services such as Advice Centres and Student Activities.
