Product: CAMBRIDGE & MIDI Lower Front Open Chill Cabinet
With the introduction of three ‘Midi’ versions to its recently launched open-chill Cambridge, Verco believes that it now offers an unbeatable range of cabinets to suit all retail refrigeration needs.
The new-generation Cambridge range was developed in response to customer feedback and is now fitted with the latest rotary scroll compressors and features a low-front design of just 410mm.
The seven models in the standard height (2035mm) range, which includes widths from 964mm to 2492mm, are designated C096, C110, C130, C150, C195, C230 and C250, with the C096, C110 and C130 cabinets being designed to fit within the modules of 1m, 1.2m and 1.3m ambient shelving systems.
At 1.5m high, the new Cambridge Midi models share the same widths as the C096, C110 and C130 but have been designed to match the height of gondola units to help improve visibility in supermarkets, convenience stores and forecourt sites.
For retailers looking to reduce energy consumption, all Cambridge models can be fitted with optional, electronically commutated (EC) fans and the refrigeration system can be charged with Care50 propane. In tests, Verco has proved that EC fans use 60% less energy compared with conventional fans and the use of hydrocarbons reduces the energy consumption of the compressor by 15%.
Further savings can also be achieved in a typical store environment by properly locating and maintaining cabinets. What’s more, UK-based retailers can also reduce their carbon footprint because Verco cabinets are manufactured in the UK and can claim the lowest ‘carbon miles’ of any UK-specification cabinet.
All ten models in the M1 temperature-rated Cambridge have a horizontal shelf size of 390mm, a 460mm display deck and retain the very small 'footprint' of just 677mm, which has made the range a favourite for retail environments where space is at a premium.
Features include automatic re-evaporation of defrost condensate, a tamper-proof electronic controller, compressor protection against excessive condensing temperatures and a sliding base-mounted condensing unit for easy service access. Options include mirror finishes to the internal side walls, night blinds and vertical strip lighting.
The new Cambridge continues to combine the benefits of remote refrigeration such as larger capacities and quiet operation, but with the flexibility of integral installations. Its ability to fit within shelving units also enables retailers to display chilled produce with associated ambient merchandise.
Like Verco’s other chiller and freezer ranges, the new Cambridge is also available with the company’s ‘Integrated Styling’ and can be finished in customers’ corporate colour schemes.
